As part of their History studies into the Second World War, Year 6 visited the Imperial War Museum on Monday 14 November. As well as viewing the huge number of artefacts in the WWII gallery the boys were able to get up close to tanks, guns and other vehicles used in war throughout the ages. Half of the year group visited the Children’s war exhibition to find out more about what life was like for children during this time, whilst the other half learned more about extreme acts of bravery that have led to servicemen and women being awarded either the Victoria Cross or the George Cross. In doing so we saw the museum’s collection of over 160 VCs on display.
