On Wednesday, 12 October the Year 3 boys came to school dressed as Athenian citizens. The boys pretended it was the year 490BC and that they were in the agora in Athens awaiting the news of the progression of the Persian army. During the course of the morning the boys participated in different workshops creating a range of Ancient Greek artefacts from mini mosaics to wax tablets and lucky charms. In the afternoon the boys celebrated the Greek victory against the Persians at the Battle of Marathon. They performed plays and sang to their fellow citizens and enjoyed some delicious Greek food.
