"Whoosh! The sound of the past two weeks flying by in a whirlwind of lessons and library books, timetables and lunch tables and times tables, new blazers, new teachers and new faces. Yet somehow the experience of these 14 days feels like a long established routine, new faces seem like old faces and new places feel like home. The boys, the heart of this school, have opened up and welcomed me in. They have helped me, they have guided me and they have shown me the Dulwich way. And I am really looking forward to continuing my journey here, alongside theirs. "

"Although I'm their Form Tutor, I feel a sense of comradeship with our new Year 3 boys as they settle in this year because I'm also new to the school. I'm sure that like me, what they have found is an enormously warm welcome and an immediate sense of belonging. With that in place it is so much easier for us to concentrate on the academic work that is such an important foundation to their Dulwich College careers."
Brian Davies: 3P Form Tutor
"I have been thrilled at the boys’ enthusiasm, whether it be for fiction or non-fiction, the after school Book Club, Year 3 Story Time or the Year 6 buddy-scheme, where boys read with a younger ‘buddy’. The library is a wonderful resource, clearly laid-out with busier areas such as round the chess players, or quieter areas where a boy can relax on a floor cushion and lose himself in a book.
Reading is regarded as ‘cool’ at Dulwich College Junior School – it’s something the boys really enjoy, and hopefully will establish the habit for future years. The boys are proud of their own library and regard it as a ‘special place".

"Dulwich College isn't just a school, it’s a community. I have been overwhelmed by the warmth and friendliness of its staff and pupils. I love working in the Junior School, which manages to house its boys in a protected environment, suitable for young children age 7+, while remaining very much part of the College. The Junior School is intimate and nurturing, but being part of the wider College community allows younger boys access to the fantastic facilities and privileges that their older peers enjoy."
Ellie Henderson: Teaching Assistant
"Dulwich College never fails to take my breath away. Arriving at such an impressive place each morning is an inspiring and humbling experience. But, as everyone knows, true beauty comes from within and Dulwich College is more than just a beautiful building. The pupils, staff and parents that make up the warm and welcoming community of the Junior School are its lifeblood; they quickly get under your skin and find a place in your heart. I have felt welcomed, challenged and encouraged in the few weeks I have been here and I am excited to be part of such a great school."
