Applying to an American University

Posted: 06 Mar 2013

Jack Shull

Jack Shull, Director of University Counselling at Dulwich College Suzhou, visited the Careers Library this week and gave a Higher Education seminar to a group of Upper School and Year 11 boys about the qualifications and skills that help make a successful application to an American University. Along with a strong academic background he emphasised the need to stand out from the crowd by exhibiting good leadership skills, a broad range of extracurricular activities and the importance of demonstrating what makes you a unique candidate in the space of one essay – a challenging set of demands but also one to which many of the boys who attended felt they could rise. He was also delighted to catch up with the two scholars from Suzhou who are currently in the Remove. We would like to thank Mr Shull for giving up his time to visit us and sharing his expertise.
