Glee Concert

Yesterday Dulwich College hosted the Southwark Schools’ Learning Partnership Glee. 60 pupils from Kingsdale, St Saviours and St Olaves, St Michaels and All Angels, The Charter School, JAGS and Dulwich College came together for a day to learn well know songs such as “You Can’t Always Get Want You Want”, “Rolling in the Deep” and some gospel favourites such as “Praise the Lord”. The day was run by Dan Ludford Thomas (Head of Singing), Andrew Storey (Director of ICT), Liz Swain (professional singer and choir leader) and Pete Mitchell (professional pianist, choir trainer and conductor). The bass player was Sam Weston, 1st year undergraduate studying music at Liverpool University, and on keyboards James Orford, Dulwich College Organ Scholar.

All the young people had a great day culminating in a concert in the Dulwich College Great Hall. It was fantastic to hear the fruits of their labours which included singing in 3 and 4 parts. The concert lasted 40 minutes which was a terrific achievement for just one day’s rehearsals. Well done to all.
