Posted: 20 Jun 2012

On Wednesday 20 June, the Modern Foreign Languages Department at Dulwich College hosted a national conference on how best to increase and improve boys’ performance in Modern Foreign Languages.

The Conference was attended by over 60 delegates from across the UK and was run in conjunction with the IBSC (The International Boys’ School Coalition). We were fortunate to be able to offer delegates a range of speakers and activities. Huw Edwards (BBC) provided a great start to the day and was followed by Dr Amanda Barton, School of Education, Manchester University, who spoke about practical strategies to raise boys’ motivation. The day was fascinatingly brought to a close by Bert Vaux, Professor of Linguistics at Cambridge University.
