The Wodehouse Library hosted a fascinating question and answer session with esteemed journalists Mary Harper from the BBC and Colin Freeman from The Sunday Telegraph along with documentary maker Ben Anderson. Mary Harper talked of her experiences as a correspondent for the BBC in Somalia and gave her opinions on the future of the so-called failed state. Ben Anderson spoke of his time spent with the British Army and the US Marines in Afghanistan contrasting their different methods in maintaining peace in the area. Colin Freeman gave an account of his recent kidnapping in Somalia and the dangers of being a foreign journalist in hot spots around the world including Iraq where he had been shot and almost lynched. The event was enjoyed by an audience of around forty including boys and staff and members of the public. Many thanks to Dulwich Books for organising such an interesting event.
