The competition is played over a gruelling two day format, between 16 of the UK's best rugby playing schools, requiring the eventual winners to play seven short format games. Dulwich won six and drew one game including an unlikely victory over the competition favourites Filton College in the final.
The Dulwich senior squad has enormous depth, as a result of 4 years of investment in the coaching and participation of a minimum of five teams at all age groups. The current senior crop is a combination of two highly successful year groups. Having always been relatively small, and with no single outstanding player, these boys have learnt to win as a team. Their success has always been underpinned by an extraordinary work rate and resilient defence. It has always been our hope that these attributes would bring them unprecedented success as a senior team. Under the watchful eye of Sam Howard, Master in charge of rugby and 1st XV coach, the team has reached new highs of technical and tactical maturity. Having reached the midway point of the season undefeated, we look forward to an exciting run in the Daily Mail Cup campaign.
