Eco-Day
The College played host to an Eco-Day which was run in association with the Southwark Schools Learning partnership and the Links into Languages scheme. The aim of the day was to make Year 8 pupils aware of eco-issues, with presentations on how schools are recycling, reusing and reducing, and hands-on activities involving researching and building sun-powered devices. The event opened with DUCKS’ presentation of their environmental strategy. The Solar Scrapheap Challenge, requiring pupils to construct solar-powered cars, was organised by Ms Nicola Ruston from Keele University and the sun oven task was managed by Mr Nick Mair of Dulwich College. Fortunately, the sun shone down on all activities and the day proved to be a great success for the eight participating schools.
