Celebrating the Arts at the College, Dulwich Picture Gallery

Posted: 16 Jun 2011

Celebrating the Arts at Dulwich Picture GalleryThe grounds and interior spaces of Dulwich Picture Gallery resonated with musical, artistic and dramatic performances and exhibitions, in celebration not only of the vibrancy of the Arts at the College but also of 200 years of links between the two great Dulwich institutions.

Over 500 people circulated between the displays of ceramics, photography and other artwork which had been produced by the boys during the day, entertained along the way by musical ensembles, a ‘flash-mob’ dance, wandering minstrels, a sound sculpture, dramatic interludes - notably a Diary of a Madman monologue after Gogol by the Master, Dr Spence – and a surreal tribe of living statues clad in blue Lycra suits who wandered amongst the visitors.

The late evening summer sunshine, combined with the canapés and sparkling wine, made for a memorable, inspired and inspiring evening.
