Online Booking Information

Which sports am I be able to book online?

As a Sports Club member over 12 years of age it is now possible to book for the following activities online:

  • Squash
  • Tennis (Outdoor)
  • Sports Hall for Badminton, Table Tennis & Team Sports (e.g 5v5 Football, Basketball, Netball, Volleyball, Indoor Tennis)
  • Therapy Room (Associate Therapists only)

NB: Family Junior members may book all activities except those which are chargeable - Team Sports (£20) and Indoor Tennis (£10).

What times are available?

Tennis and Squash timings are as normal.
Sports Hall timings are limited to Thursday evening and specific weekend times at present.
Details of times available are provided within the online booking pages.

What are the prices & how do I pay?

Squash and Outdoor Tennis, remain free-of-charge, and the new bookable Badminton sessions are also free. The Team Sports court is priced at £20 including vat per hour, Indoor Tennis is priced at £10 including vat per hour, which must be paid on arrival. (At the present time it is NOT possible to pay online due to the high cost of payment portals).

What are the limitations to booking rights?

All members over the age of 12 years may register for online booking rights.
All facilities may be booked up to 10 days in advance (Therapy Room 30 days).
Each member may book a maximum of 1 session of each sport per day, except when booking courts on the same day or the day before, in which case there is no limit.
Each member may hold a maximum of 5 unpaid bookings at any given time.

What happens if I need to cancel?

You can cancel online or in person up to 24 hours in advance. After that a cancellation fee of £5, (or for Team Sports £20, Indoor Tennis £10) is payable. Outdoor Tennis may be cancelled without charge at any time in the event of bad weather but you must contact Reception to arrange the cancellation.

What happens if I do not show up for my booking? (Very important)
For all activities except Squash you will need to report to Reception on arrival and obtain an attendance ticket. This confirms to us that are using the facility as booked, and will serve to reduce no-shows. If you fail to turn up, fail to collect your ticket or fail to cancel an unwanted session then you will receive a letter requesting payment of a no-show Penalty Fee of £5 (Team Sports £20, Indoor Tennis £10).

Why is there no automatic Penalty Fee for Squash?

As we don’t have a member of staff permanently at TBSG it will not be possible to issue attendance tickets. However, spot checks will be carried out and Penalty Fees will be issued where appropriate.

How do I pay my no-show penalty fee?

This can be paid in person or over the phone, but NOT online.

What happens if I do not pay my no-show penalty fee?

The system will not allow you to make further bookings if a no-show penalty is unpaid on your account for more than 7 days.

Will Penalty Fees be payable from day one of the new system?

No. In order for members to adapt to the new procedure there will be a grace period of 3 months until May 18th 2009. You will receive a letter informing you of your error, but the penalty fee will be waived.

Sounds great! How do I register for online booking?

In order to register, please complete the Online Booking Registration Form and hand it in at Sports Club Reception. You will be issued with the full Conditions of Use plus a password which will allow you access to the booking portal on the website. You will not be able to login without this new password.

I prefer to continue to make telephone bookings. Is this possible?

For several months we will continue to take all bookings over the telephone. However, in due course this facility will be limited to short periods of time each day or removed altogether. however, members will always be able to book in person at Reception (if you don’t mind the occasional queue!).

Please note that same rules regarding the no-show penalty fee still apply to telephone and in-person bookings
