Lord Turnbull, Chairman of Governors, on the top of the Lantern above the Great Hall roof, inspecting the refurbishment works in the recent snow. The Lantern is some 12-15m high above the roof. All of its intricate leadwork has been replaced, most of the rotten woodwork and a number of panes of glass. Weather permitting, the scaffolding around the Lantern is due to come down soon to reveal it in its newly refurbished glory.
