1st XI ISFA cup winners

The 1st XI topped off what was a brilliant season by beating Brentwood School to win the ISFA London Independent Schools’ Cup on Thursday 4 May.

When the two teams met earlier in the season, Dulwich were fortunate to come away 1-0 victors, making the Cup Final an even more exciting prospect. Under the lights at Beckenham Town FC, Dulwich played superb football from the word go. Two well taken goals from set pieces by Sid Shepherd and James Blakemore at both ends of the first half gave Dulwich a commanding lead. Credit must go to Brentwood School for the football they played immediately after half-time, with a well-taken goal from outside the area being one of several chances that could have found the net. However, Dulwich hit back through Oscar Gleave on the counter-attack, something they have done so often this season. Boris Festa then added a fourth with about ten minutes to play. Dulwich thoroughly deserved their 4-1 victory. Last season many of this year’s players lost in cup finals making this achievement even more special. It was a perfect way to end the season for those boys playing their final football fixture for Dulwich College.
