Boys playing rugby

Sport is an integral part of life at Dulwich College, as part of the College curriculum and within our extensive co-curricular programme. Boys are offered the chance to try out 24 different sports.

Our aim is to provide dynamic and innovative learning for all boys, irrespective of their innate sporting ability. Participation in sport fosters good health which benefits the boys in their academic work and inculcates personal qualities such as team-spirit, the willingness to meet a challenge and a sense of fair play. All of this contributes to the rounded education which is at the heart of the Dulwich approach.

Boys are encouraged to perform to the best of their ability. A majority of boys represent the College in competitive matches; we have, on average, around four hundred fixtures every term. A number of boys will also represent their country or county at a variety of sports including rugby, rowing, football, athletics, hockey, cricket and fencing.

Boys often pursue their chosen sports outside timetabled hours and there are clubs for enthusiasts of sub aqua, taekwondo, karate, table tennis, fencing, badminton, squash, cycling and croquet.
