Summer Concert at Southwark Cathedral

The experience of great works in performance is a vital element in the study of historical style and compositional technique. The Music Department offers a comprehensive programme of co-curricular performance activities which serve to enhance the academic teaching of the department. All boys are encouraged to take part in major concerts and to perform their own compositions. Performances regularly take place at leading London venues, including the Queen Elizabeth Hall, St John's Smith Square, Cadogan Hall and Southwark Cathedral. The department also organises numerous tours, both nationally and internationally.

Musicians from Dulwich College are regularly represented in organisations outside the school such as the junior conservatoires, the London Schools Symphony Orchestra, the National Children’s Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra.

We regularly receive applications from boys who wish to join us purely for our musical provision, and a variety of musical scholarships are offered to the most gifted. The Director of Music is always pleased to meet and advise parents and their sons who may be interested in these Music Awards.
