James Caird

General Public

The James Caird is on display and can be visited only with an escort. To arrange a visit to see the James Caird please contact reception@dulwich.org.uk.

Visits can be booked on TUESDAYS between 9:30am and 11:30am (last admittance 11am) or 2pm and 4pm (last admittance 3:30pm). There will be no visits on Public Holidays or outside these times. All visits must be pre-booked by emailing Reception.

When you arrive at Dulwich College via the main entrance on Dulwich Common (the South Circular A205), please make your way to Reception, which you’ll find under the Clock Tower. Reception will issue you with a Visitor’s Pass and introduce you to your escort.

We offer opportunities for local schools to bring classes to the College to see the James Caird and other artefacts related to the expeditions of Sir Ernest Shackleton. To find out about these tours please contact archives@dulwich.org.uk
