Old AlleyniansFormer pupils of Dulwich College are traditionally known as Old Alleynians, in honour of our Founder, Edward Alleyn. Amongst the most famous are of course Sir Ernest Shackleton (explorer), PG Wodehouse, Raymond Chandler and Dennis Wheatley (authors), Lord Hartley Shawcross (lawyer and politician), Lord George (former Governor of the Bank of England) and Bob Monkhouse (media personality). The Alleyn Club The Alleyn Club was founded in 1873 to act as a focus for the huge and ever-expanding Old Alleynian network and is open to all OAs. There are events organised throughout the year, at the College and around the country, as well as abroad. These include Founder's Day, the OA Reunion and the Alleyn Club Dinner. There are also opportunities to join various OA clubs and societies. These are an important part of the Alleyn Club's purpose, which includes fostering the provision of recreational, social and sporting activities for its members, strengthening their links with the College and supporting the College's educational development. If you have lost touch with the Alleyn Club and would like to inform them about a change of address you can email: alleynclub@dulwich.org.uk or ring 020 8299 9286 Copyright 2010 Dulwich College.
