Co-curricular : Sport
Students develop a willingness to improve and to perform to the best of their ability in an enjoyable atmosphere, allowing them to grow in confidence. Over 900 boys choose to pursue a sport during co-curricular time and represent the College in one of the many teams. A large number go on to represent their county or country in a variety of sports including rugby, rowing, athletics, hockey and cricket.
Inter House sporting competition also remains very popular and places in House teams are highly sought-after. These competitions prove to be an excellent opportunity for all boys to develop their skills, promote self-esteem and appreciate the importance of competition, co-operation and teamwork.
There is also an extensive programme of sporting activities that incorporate the learning of skills in a less competitive environment: the Sub Aqua Club, Wing Tsung, table tennis, fencing, badminton, squash, cycling and croquet clubs all offer different experiences and continue to go from strength to strength.
To complement these tremendous opportunities The Dulwich College Sports Club provides a link to local clubs for students who wish to continue playing their chosen sport(s). The Sports Club also enables the College to open up its excellent facilities to the local community. Courses and coaching are available in a variety of sports for both adults and children.
