Discipline and Exclusions
Suspensions
The Master and Deputy Master (Pastoral) have the authority to suspend pupils. The purpose of this sanction is to indicate clearly to pupils and parents the extreme seriousness with which the College views the offence. No suspension shall last longer than five days and is normally one or two days depending on the gravity of the offence.
Permanent Exclusion
The Master will act fairly and in accordance with the procedures of natural justice and will not exclude a pupil except in grave circumstances. The parents of a pupil who faces exclusion have the right of review by a complaints panel of at least three persons (one of whom must be independent of the College) before the Master makes a final decision.
Dulwich College provides regular support for boys who have a particular learning need. This is provided by the Learning Support team and the English as an Additional Language team. All boys are screened in their first few weeks at the College so that we can arrange support where it is required. Parents of boys who require support will be contacted after this process, and booklets detailing the nature of the support provided will be sent to them.
The College operates an inclusive policy. Provided a disabled pupil meets the required academic standards of entry into the College, where possible, provision is made available for him to receive a full education as a day boy or as a boarder.
The Chairman of Governors is Lord Turnbull.
